Provinces First Energy Research and Development Forum

first_imgOil and gas, renewable energy and climate change are just a fewof the topics that will be discussed by more than 200researchers, industry and government representatives at NovaScotia’s first Energy Research and Development Forum. The forumis being held in Antigonish, May 13-14. “By co-ordinating research and development efforts, industry andthe academic community can have a greater impact on current andfuture energy issues in Atlantic Canada,” said Nova Scotia’sEnergy Minister Cecil Clarke. “Increasing research anddevelopment is a provincial initiative and an important part ofNova Scotia’s Energy Strategy.” The forum is an opportunity for researchers, industry andgovernment to share the energy research being done today and whatthe research priorities will be tomorrow. It will featurespeakers from universities, industry and the research field andwill include a keynote address from Chris Huskilson, chiefoperating officer of Emera Inc. The forum takes place in theKeating Millennium Centre of St. Francis Xavier University. The Energy Research and Development Forum is a provincialinitiative sponsored by the Nova Scotia Department of Energy andthe Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), with supportfrom Petroleum Research Atlantic Canada.
