first_imgMitchell Lovins, 70, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January10, 2016 in an accident on State Road # 56 near Salem, Indiana.He was born in Manchester, Kentucky, the son of George Lovins and Gertrude(Hounschell) Lovins.Mitchell was a retired maintenance mechanic for theScottsburg City Garage, where he worked for 34 years retiring in 2009.  Healso attended the Fairview Christian Church near Underwood, Indiana and wasa retired volunteer fireman from the Scottsburg Volunteer Fire Department,where he served for 28 years. Mitchell was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie (Taylor) Lovins; his father and two brothers, Monroe and Mickey Lovins.  Survivors include his wife, Carla L. (Farmer) Lovins; two daughters, Darlene Montgomery and her husband David and Pamela Campbell and her husband Michael all of Scottsburg, Indiana;  a son, Mitchell BrianLovins and his wife Pam of Scottsburg, Indiana;  two stepdaughters, ClarissaAkers and her husband Kyle of Scottsburg, Indiana and Sabrina Collins andher husband Jason of Okinawa, Japan; a stepson, Matthew Jones and his wifeAmanda of Lexington, Indiana; mother, Gertrude Lovins of Brownstown,Indiana;  two sisters, Madonna Maxie and her husband Troy of Tampico,Indiana and Mary Wehrkamp and her husband Mike of Crothersville, Indiana;two brothers, Michael Lovins and his wife Connie of Brownstown, Indiana andMorris Lovins and his wife Linda of Scottsburg, Indiana; 20 grandchildrenand 4 great grandchildren.Funeral Service: 11:00 am Friday, January 15, 2016 at Fairview Christian Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery.Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Thursday at Collins Funeral Home and after 9 am Fridayat Fairview Christian Church.Memorial Contributions: To The Family c/o Collins Funeral Home, 465 W.
