first_imgWILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington High School Varsity Softball team (5-2) defeated Cathedral High School by a score of 5-0 on Monday, April 30 at Town Park in Wilmington.Pitcher Ally Moran went the distance allowing only 2 hits with 14 strikeouts. She pitched a no-hitter into the sixth.Runs were hard to come by for both teams. Wilmington left runners in scoring position in the first two innings. The Wildcats finally scored one in the fourth on a double by Ally Moran and an RBI infield out by Adele Burton (2 RBI).In the 6th inning, the Wildcats broke it open when four consecutive batters (Dana Goulet (single), Antonia Kieran (single), Ally Moran (walk), and Adele Burton (error) reached base.
